My Happy Heart

There is a place right next door to Griffin's school, where the sun casts weird triangular-shaped shadows through the trees in the morning. I am always cursing myself for not bringing my camera with me, because I literally notice it everyday.
Well, today is Thursday, and I always get a little bit excited on Thursdays, because it's the last day of my week in photographs, and whatever it is that I take a picture of, will fill the final slot in my somewhat-of-a-collage for the week.
So, I grabbed my camera on the way out the door today, finally, and I'm so glad that I did! I love it, but I think the shadows are almost secondary to the rest of the photo.
This 365 Project, although you're probably tired of me talking about it, has my heart skipping some days, and it's been a long time since I felt truly happy, and skippy in my heart, so I'm grateful. (warning - this is where I shamelessly (or shamefully) plug the rest of my progress, and ask you to go check out here.)
I think I might be liking this photography thing.
Another thing that's making my heart skip today, is Griffin's speech is really, really improving, and he is so much more engaged.
This morning he came in the girl's room with me, when I went to wake them up. I said, "Say good morning, sisters!" And he said, "No, sleep," pointed to the light, and said, "Sisters, night." We all laughed, well, because he was trying to be funny, which makes it feel like he's starting to join us. This is very hard to explain, but you really notice it when it's not there. So, verbally communicating is good, but actually engaging is fantastic!
What has your heart skipping today?

The first photo is beautiful - the reflection of the autumn colours in the pond are so lovely - the light, the shadows. A great picture to end your week.
