Emerging

No Magnet Monday today. I really shouldn't be here at all. I promised myself that I would focus on "getting it together", and not come back until it was "together".

Fat chance of that happening. I'm in the thick of it...and it's much thicker than I thought.

Plus, I missed you.

Being unplugged has been good for me though (Pinterest doesn't count :)). Cleaning puts me into some sort of meditative state, and I've been thinking...as much as my house needs cleaned and organized, sometimes I need that too...to purge old thoughts that are broken, or are of no use to me anymore...to shine up the ones that are worth keeping, or clear a space for new ones.

I've been making lists, and dreaming. I tape words to the wall above the sink while I'm doing dishes...words that I want to contemplate and question, and just see how they feel. I've been working on being mindful.

I love this, by Dr. Robert Holden..."The purpose of your life is to discover who you are. It is to meet yourself and to identify what you are made of and what you are made for. To do this, you have to be willing to give yourself some special attention. You have to stop "going" "doing" and "chasing" and start spending more time "being" with yourself. You have to connect consciously with what I call your unconditioned self, the original essence of who you are. Your unconditioned self wants you to know yourself. It wants you to know who you really are."

So, that's what I'm doing...I'm giving myself (and my house) some special attention. Cleaning and being.

What's new with you?

Great quote. Something I want to remember too. I could use some soul searching these days. Thanks for sharing this!

I totally understand and hear you. I love when both my kids are usurping the computers and I have to go off in the house and find something non-pinteresting to do. I get super productive. Wonderful snowy photos. Oh, we miss the snow down here in TX!

Love the images..and love the quote. I think it's something I should tape to my computer here as a reminder - each and every day! The snow is magical..isn't it?!?!?

Dear Kelly-I love this post!! Everything about it...the pics (adorable) and the words. I love the space you are holding in your SELF and ...the SELF you are holding in your space. I also LOVE that quote and...feel the need to unplug a bit too:) xxx
