A Cat Up a Tree

I used to know an elderly man who, whenever you asked him how he was doing, would rattle off every complaint he had. I remember I used to laugh, thinking he was joking...I mean, who does that?

Don't we always just respond, no matter how we really are, with things like, "good", "fine", or "I'm hanging in there" (which really means, I'm not doing so great, but I don't want to burden you with my problems)?

That's me right now. I'm hanging in there.

I'm guessing the elderly man I was referring to didn't have access to the great motivational posters of the '70s.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! I am so glad it's a NEW year! How about you?

oh --- happy to read your comment on my blog! and see a post on yours!
I've been thinking about you... I know you've got a lot on your plate with three kids... a home, meals, car, weather, etc. Raising kids with no assistance must be so terribly hard, lonely & just plain exhausting. I'm watching a young mother do that in my office & I can imagine your situation might be similar... except her "ex" is still able to help watch the kids a couple of afternoons a week.
I'm a great listener! if you need to unload --- shoot me an email. Or, let me know what I can do to help.
