My Bucket List

I was checking in on one of my favorite blogs this morning, and found this very awesome, and well-rounded post.
Why well-rounded? Well, it's entertaining, enlightening, there are contests (you can win trips, $500 gift cards, or a camera!!!), the contests are for a good cause, and it made me think about, AND make a list of the 15 things I'd like to accomplish in my lifetime.
I've been trying, for what seems like forever, to get rid of that "stuck in the mud and spinning my wheels" feeling. I have that constant argument in my head that goes, "Life can't give you what you want unless you know what you want...what do I want?...what do I want?...what do I want?"
So, I thought this was going to be hard, but I actually couldn't stop myself once I got started. I had to pull the reins at 18. Really? That's all I needed to do...just write it down?
So, voila, my bucket list...
- Own a canoe
- Establish a daily yoga routine
- Start and run my own business (products made with my own two hands)
- Own a vacation cottage/cabin less than 3 hours away
- Learn to play my guitar
- Buy and decorate my own home
- Write a book
- Raise chickens
- Learn to cook
- Travel with my kids (Italy, Ireland, Australia, Mexico)
- Open an art studio for kids
- Travel west (Montana, Oregon, Washington, etc...)
- Travel east (Maine, Connecticut, etc...)
- Attend Mardi Gras
- Meet the Dalai Lama
- Go to an artist retreat or Brave Girls Camp
- See all of my kids graduate from high school, and be financially secure enough to send them all to college
- Plant a garden full of flowers, and give them all away
This is my entry in the Just Ask Bucket List Getaway Giveaway. Just Ask offers a breast and ovarian cancer screening and is encouraging people to share 15 things that I want to enjoy in my lifetime as a reminder to be aware of my health. Want to enter? I am going to whole-heartedly agree with #'s 1, 5, 7 and 13. Tried #2 but I'm not that bendy. I'll add "go for a ride in a semi," "meet Joss Whedon," and "figure out where my 6 yr old learned to use air quotes, cuz that's that's gotta stop."
Dear Kelly-your list just made me instantly smile...it is SO you!!! I mean...really. You are such a warm and giving person...and so selfless...and your list really reflects that. Okay...the chickens again:) You just gotta' get some, okay:) And can i come with you on your travels...pleeeeeze?? Hey...about art biz...I took Kelly Rae Roberts Flying Lessons last year and it was the best!! There were TONS of nuts and bolts info. that could really help you with a creative biz. Whenever you are ready...its' offered in an e-book now. I am still trying to work through the lessons to be quite honest...I saved them.
Oh! I am learning so much from Oprah's lifeclass. Aha moments all over the place. I just tape them and watch them whenever I can. xxx
What a great list, Kelly!
Hmmmm. I wonder what would be on mine. I'll have to give it some thought!
