Easily Amused

I've been trying to get a post up all week about what a great day we had on Sunday (I have lots of photos...), but "Mayhem" has taken over. The month of May is crrrraaaaazzy around here. I think it's even more hectic than December. This is an easy post though, so I had to share.

(a little mayhem)

There is a railroad bridge on the edge of our little town, and we drive under it everyday to get where we are going. Yesterday, I noticed something written on it that I had never seen before...

Dontcha just love that? When you travel the same route everyday, and suddenly something jumps out at you that you've never noticed before, like "Hey, where did that house come from?"

Anyway, of course I thought it was a fantastic message, so as soon as I dropped the kiddos off at school, my camera and I went directly to the bridge.

I parked on a little utility road, and walked out to the sidewalk to take the picture.  I took a couple shots of the bridge, and then I noticed, to my amusement (I am easily amused), that each time a car drove under the bridge the driver would turn around hoping to catch a glimpse of what I was photographing. It cracked me up, and reminded me of a scene from an old show or movie...I can't remember it exactly, (for the first time ever Google has failed me)...so if it rings a bell with you please let me know!

But, in the scene a man is just leaving the doctors office (I think), where the doctor has told him that he needs to keep his head tilted back. As he leaves the building, everyone on the street starts looking up too. Ah, we humans are funny creatures, aren't we? It just makes me laugh to think that my camera and I caused some rubbernecking this morning. :)

Has anything like that ever happened to you?

Anyway, I hope all is well, and you are enjoying this merry month of May. The lilacs are finally blooming here!

I just wanted to share a laugh.  I will catch up with you again (hopefully before June).

Nine!

Dirt cups.

Yesterday was my baby girl's 9th birthday...my girl who loves to wear skirts, and colorful nail polish, and sparkly silver shoes.

"So, what do you want to take to school for your birthday snack, baby girl?"

"Dirt cups." ...I love that.

Nine years ago, a hospital nursery worker named, Curly, brought me my newborn daughter for her middle-of-the-night feeding. As she was handing Macy over to me she said, "I've seen a lot of babies in my time...but there's something about this one. This little girl is special." I couldn't agree more, Curly. She truly is one of a kind.  She's imaginative, creative, determined and smart, and I'm so grateful that I get to be her mama.

Happy Birthday, Macy!  XXOO!
