Thanks!

Ahh...

Ahh..

Do you hear that?  It’s the bittersweet sound of silence.  It’s me sitting down at the computer, with no interruptions, for the first time, in what seems like, a really long time.  My kiddos were on Spring Break from school last week and since we are down to just one computer here, I gladly sacrificed my time in cyberspace to keep the peace.

Thank you for your concern and well wishes last week!  It’s really an incredible thing to know that people care about you.  I love this bloggy world, and the good friends that I’ve made here.  I feel like I have my own little, invisible bubble of goodness and generosity from all over this big world.

I just found out from Brave Girls Club that they are having a contest for all of the participants of the first Soul Restoration course.  I know I mentioned that I couldn’t put the whole experience into words, but I’m going to try…

If I get enough votes on the post I write, I could win tuition for Soul Restoration II, and that would be well worth the horrid “gut spilling” I’m going to have do to explain just what taking the course meant to me.

So, what have you been up to lately?  Can you believe it’s almost April?

(This photo of my busy, dancing, rock finding kids cracks me up! I think I miss them already. :))

Enjoying My Misfortune

A little string of bad luck has left me no choice, but to sit back and enjoy the coming of spring...

First, and the saddest thing to me is, I dropped my netbook and shattered the screen. My system for photo editing has always been kind of a pain…We have an old, clunky monitor for our desktop and no amount of button pushing changes the color or the resolution, so I was always uploading my photos on the desktop and then sending certain ones to my email or Picnik or Photobucket, and then looking at them with my netbook to see what they really looked like. Now, I have no idea what it is that you see, so if it’s crap, I’m sorry. I have to say “Oh well” to the whole situation, or I’ll lie in bed and cry for days. :)

To make matters worse, whatever it is I don’t really see on my crappy monitor, I can only see with one eye today. Yesterday, I was cleaning my bathroom ceiling and I got a drop of bleach in my eye. I went to the ER and had my eye flushed out, and came home with a tube of antibiotic ointment and a corneal abrasion. Ouch! I can still see (thank goodness), and today I feel more wrecked by the intense eye flushing and the tetanus shot I got in my arm, than I do from the pain in my left eye.

I’m not complaining. It’s actually a good thing that I feel all floppy and lifeless today. I can’t give a second thought to the mountain of laundry growing in the hallway, because my washing machine broke on Saturday, too. So, what’s a floppy, one-eyed girl like me to do without the ability to edit photos or do laundry…? I guess I’ll just have to sit back and enjoy the nice weather and the coming of spring, right?

Kiss Me I'm Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Ethnicity-wise, I'm pretty much a mutt...but, I am a little bit Irish...just enough to celebrate!

How about you? Do you have any plans for the day? Are you feeling green and festive?

I'm going to make myself a Reuben sandwich for lunch, and I'll probably do a jig or two. :)

Here is an old Irish blessing...of course you've probably heard it before, but I don't think it ever gets old. My Aunt's father used to say it to me every time I saw him, and I never got tired of hearing it, so from me to you today...

"May the road rise to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. And rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand."

Noticing...

Yesterday, we had sun...

I noticed little sunlight patterns creeping in to play hide-and-seek on my refrigerator in the morning and my heart did a backflip.

It's amazing how much the presence of the sun this time of year can turn your whole day around. It's like having an old friend, that you haven't seen in a while, suddenly show up on your door step.

"Hello sun! Gosh, it's good to see you. I've missed you so much!"

I stopped everything I was doing and just had some quality time with my friend the sun...and I noticed things.

I noticed that my kids are getting older...that every day they are moving farther and farther out of that little cocoon that once was, just "me and them". It has been happening...It's always happening, but sometimes something just makes you stop and really notice that things are changing.

Today, of course, it's raining...
