Without a Hitch

I wish everyday was like the first day of school. Both girls woke up this morning without prodding, despite not being able to fall asleep last night. They were so excited. It was like Christmas! The buses were even on time...and that never happens. So, now I have a 3rd grader, and a 5th grader (my little man doesn't start until next week). When did that happen? I guess I blinked. Mental note: No more blinking!!

So, here we go...back to schedules, homework, hopefully, a cleaner house, and some sanity. I'll miss the crazy summer, but it will be nice to get back to reality.

I hope that all of your school days are starting off without a hitch!

Home Sweet Home

As nice as it is to get away, I think it's even nicer coming home. I love walking in the door, dropping all the bags on the floor, and saying, "ahh...we're home."

We had a great time on our two mini vacations; the first to Kalahari Resort & Waterpark, the second to Hocking Hills with my parents, brothers, and their families.

I didn't use my camera nearly as much as I should have, but I'll post some pics soon.

School starts on Wednesday for the girlies, so today we're doing hair cuts, laundry, and shopping for school supplies. Wait...did I say I was glad to be home? I might have to get back to you on that.

A Day Late

I just noticed that my post date is off a day. Hmmm...when did that happen?

We are on our crazy roller coaster ride of packing, unpacking, and packing again. Pretty soon I'm going to need a vacation from vacation!

I hope you're all having a nice end of the summer! I'll check back in again when things settle back down a bit.

p.s. That cherry pic has nothing to do with this post. I just thought it looked yummy.

One Step Ahead

I think it's an instinctual part of parenting to always be one step ahead of your kids, but my little demolition man is giving me a run for my money. As it is now, all of our doors are equipped with hook locks, we have a bungee cord on our refrigerator, and there is next to nothing left on our shelves, but even with all of that in place he still manages to get one over on me. The other day after painting, we put the lids on the paint and closed them up tight. Who knew that if you bit the bottom of the container really hard that paint would actually explode out from underneath the lid? Who knew?...Demolition Man knew, that's who! I took this photo to show you the bite marks, and I spared you the mess...it wasn't pretty...colorful, but not pretty.

My Two Favorite Words

I was so excited to find this little red wagon at a garage sale over the weekend. The possibilities for what I might use it for are endless...photo prop, product display, hauling rocks...all of the above. Love it!!!

But, the best part of all...

Don't you just love garage sales season?
